The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently viewing the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render services into the community.
SASSA are going to be rendering providers which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer care enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a statement, the agency said it is alarmed with regard to the large variety of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The aim of the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the higher amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“That is because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully functional office focused on service the area daily. The services position created for intervention activities a significant inflow of opportunity beneficiaries, which makes it challenging for that Workplace to attend to all people who visit a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise a lot more methods to help the servicing of all read more clients and enhance use of Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
